salted carmel pot de crème
ingredients
- cup sugar
- cup water
- cups heavy cream
- teaspoon vanilla
- egg yolks
instructions
- whisk egg yolks, set aside
- stir together sugar and water, and bring to a boil until mixture develops a brown color
- whisk in cream, mix until all the carmel’s bits dissolve
- slowly mix cream into the yolks, add vanilla
- pour into 4 to 6 small oven safe dishes
- bake 325°f (162°c) 30-40 minutes baño maría
- chill, garnish with salt flakes
